Our Community: 75 Years After E.O. 9066
Saturday, April 8, 2017
Doors open at 5:30pm, event begins at 6:15pm
Our event is titled “Our Community: 75 Years After E.O. 9066” as 2017 marks the 75th anniversary of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s authorization of the forced removal of 120,000 Japanese Americans. As the title suggests, we will be honoring the incarceration legacy while, more importantly, looking at how the incarceration fuels our work as advocates today, especially our work to end racial profiling, discrimination, and xenophobia. With our current political climate, this work is more crucial than ever.
We are honored to have this year’s banquet hosted by King 5 News’s Lori Matsukawa.
